Attenuates the spurious signals from AM broadcast band, well know enemies of SW receivers, that cause birdies and IMD, overloading and de-sensing receiver front-ends.
This filter allow to work all of 160 Meters, including the CW portion of the band without the interferences normally experienced by receivers due to overload from the strong commercial AM broadcast band signals
Very sharp slope occurring at 1.8MHz, keeps without attenuation all signals at 1.8MHz and above, including the CW portion of the 160 meters band.
Low pass band insertion loss, less than 1 dB @ 1.8MHz typical and flat pass band response.
No relays are needed.
Suitable for inserting between transceiver and antenna. |

10KHz to 60MHz Antenna Galvanic Isolator System for SDR radios
The broadband antenna isolator allows isolate the antenna galvanically from the receiver; only magnetic signal is coupling from the antenna.
Ground loops in SDR radios induced by the antenna feeder is very common if the computer ground is connected to the radio system. This type of ground loop issue can be solved by using galvanic isolation between the receiver and the antenna cable.
In most receiver installations the antenna coaxial feeder is connected to mains earth at the receiver side. This can cause mains noise to enter into the receiver because either the feeder mains earth line is the return path for the antenna or noise being coupled to the antenna and radiated.
The Antenna Isolator can achieve up to 40dB noise rejection, depending on installation.
A high isolation broadband transformer assembled on a large toroid core (T130) is used in order to avoid distortion products due excessive level of RF signals.
In addition gas discharge tube is included in order to minimize static damage.
- Frequency range: 10KHz to 60MHz
- Insertion loss: 0.5dB typical.
- Power rating: 10Watt
- Input/Output impedance: 50 Ohm..
- Connectors: SO-239
- Gas discharge tube for static discharge to earth.
- Earth terminal post for a separate earth connection.
- Enclosure:ABS material rated to UL 94V-0. Protection IP54.
- Size: 86mmx57mmx36mm(
3.4x2.2x1.4in)
The vector network analyzer plot below shows the frequency and VSWR response over 10 KHz to 60 MHz range.

0 - 71 dB Step Attenuator Ladder Configuration
The step attenuator presented here for measurement purposes, is an inestimable tool for accurate control of amplitude levels. In addition, it improves the impedance match between impedance-sensitive devices, such as amplifiers, oscillators and filters, lowering the VSWR of components connected in cascaded mode by providing isolation between the impedances.
Furthermore, the step attenuator is suitable for receiver front-end protection or as calibrated attenuator for receiving performance evaluation.
The attenuator in ladder configuration uses eight high quality low stray capacitance double pole double throw (DPDT) toggle switches to select different amounts of attenuation. The unit provides 0-71 dB of attenuation in 1 dB step.
Based on Minicircuits PAT+ series, wideband DC to 7GHz fixed ceramic attenuator cells of 1dB-2dB-3dB-5dB-10-dB-10dB-20dB-20dB, it gives a precise reference of attenuation
BNC connectors protected with no short-circuited metallic dust caps are used at each end of the attenuator.

Power rating: 1-Watt maximum.
Impedance: 50 Ohms
External Dimensions: 148mmx37mmx30mm(5.827x1.457x1.181in)
