Now the SCR Preselector frequency setting and band selection is synchronized dynamically with any radio supported by Winrad v1.6.1 and HDSDR.
Tracking feature
When the Start button is pressed on Winrad or HDSDR the SCR Preselector tracks automatically the band and operating frequency which the supported radio is tuned.
Any variation of the tune frequency on the upper scale and spectrum window on Winrad/HDSDR or supported radio window interface is followed by the SCR Preselector. Also the Band selection of the SCR Preselector changes automatically when is needed.
The change of frequency is done in the range of milliseconds so the change is unnoticed by the user.
Furthermore the SCR Preselector tracking software can be recalibrated by the user.
Installation:
| Install the software or your choice. Winrad v1.6.1 or HDSDR latest Version. |
 |
 |
 |
Install drivers and files of the radio hardware.
Install the SCR Preselector USB driver.

Download SCR_Preselector_WinRad.zip version 1.0.0.X (coming soon)
Unzip the folder.
Files in SCR_Preselector_WinRad.zip folder:
- ExtIO_SCR_Preselector.dll ; interfaces the SCR Preselector with Winrad.
SCRpreselector folder
- SCR_Preselector.exe ; SCR Preselector executable program.
- SCR-Preselector.dll – ; required by the .exe
- SDRlist.txt ; contains the list of used ExtIO dll’s radios (ExtIO_SCR_Preselector.dll ; ExtIO_Si570.dll, etc.)
- table_BAND_A.txt to table_BAND_E.txt ; contains the frequency reference tables for each band.

HDSDR folder |
Copy the ExtIO_SCR_Preselector.dll file and the SCRpreselector folder in WinRad or HDSDR root folder, usually C:\Program Files\Winrad or HDSDR.
Selection of supported radios
To select what supported radio will track the SCR Preselector open the file named " SDRlist.txt" located on SCRpreselector folder.
From the list of radios place on the first row the selected one.

In the figure the selected radio is LazyDog LD-1.
At any time more radio names can be added to the SDRlist. ExtIO_XX.dll
Playing radios
Open Winrad and go to the menu "ShowOptions" / "Select input" and click " SCR_Preselector ".

or
Open HDSDR, a menu window will appear, click on " ExIO_SCR_Preselector.dll ".

The interfaces control window will appear on screen, start Winrad; now the user operates Winrad normally.

The figure shows Winradio, SCR Preselector and LazyDog LD-1 radio interfaces.

HDSDR, SCR Preselector and LD-1 user interfaces.
At any time the operator can manually change the frequency, band, attenuator, antenna input and preamplifier ON/OF of the SCR Preselector through the control window interface. Keyboard shortcut "H" brings the graphics user interface to foreground on screen. Also Windows shortcut "Alt-Tab can be used.
Recalibrating the SCR Preselector
The SCR Preselector comes calibrated from factory. Whenever the user can recalibrate it with the aid of the calibration tables for each band.
The SCR_Preselector folder contains five documents so-called table_BAND_A.txt, table_BAND_B.txt
, table_BAND_C.txt, table_BAND_D.txt and table_BAND_E.txt.
The tables link the operating frequency set on Winrad with the SCR Preselector tuning capacity value, comprised between 0 and 255. This value can be readed on the upper side of the graphic user interface window.
The column on the left is the capacity value, on the right the frequency related.
With the aid of a frequency reference, values on the table can be modified.
In addition more reference points can be added to the list.
Tune Winrad to the reference frequency and tune the preselector to maximum signal using the control knob on its control window.
Write on the list the capacity value and related frequency.
